How much smaller (in file size) would a H.264 Transportstream movie be compared to an MPEG2 Transportstream?

I wouldnt think that they would let it stream a H.264 Avi file  ...... but who knows

Let hope that Microsoft will allow streaming of both format to the 360 extender when Vista is released.

LMAO AHAHHA got a better idea how bout we get to store videos on hour hard drive which would be better i wish someone knew how u could convert videos and movies u have and code them into xbox live movies and videos did anyone ever think of that so that u can downlaod moviez (legally) or ripp them off ur normal dvds to pc then use the xsata cable to the hdd of the 360 then some how convert them to xbox live videos but i think there r some codes on them that wont let u allow to store videos/moviez of ur stuff heh figures its micrsoft.!!!!! biggrin.gif  smile.gif  mad.gif

nothing that MS can legally do will make the 360 media capabilities anything close to XBMC on the original xbox, thus we must hope for someone to find the key to unlock the full potential of the 360.

kudos for MS to keep tryin' though...i am curious what will happen with the wii and ps3 concerning hacking and media possibilities...

But personally, I'd quite happily spend some MS points on divx playback for my 360 laugh.gif they should at least make it optional or something. Their loss tho wink.gif

i'd be up for that

then i can get rid of the old xbox

altho i prefer xbmc's way of handling tunes and pix

I think its fair to say XBMC would still be superior, i didnt have the original xbox but wasnt it possible to transfer your files from a PC to the xbox's own hard drive before viewing them?

Also, you guys should get your hands on probably M$'s final release of Vista before it goes public (and expensive biggrin.gif) , Vista RC2. It can be found in the wild now, but i would advise waiting until this friday (when its meant to appear on the M$ site). All you have to do is create a live account (using your hotmail address), they send you an activation key and link, you download and register RC2. Ive heard that RC2 wont expire until july 2007 also so for free, its a pretty good deal tongue.gif.
