Creating Drm Content To Rip Mp3's
« on: January 04, 2006, 04:46:00 AM »

Hi Guys,

I tried packaging some mp3 files with my Sony Ericsson DRM Packager but had no luck with it.  The 360 recognised it was a Mixed Media Disc but would not even display the songs.  There was nothing else on the disc (DVD+RW) apart from the DRM protected tracks so I found it odd that the 360 knew it was a Mixed Media Disc.
The Sony Ericsson DRM packager is used for phones who are locked to a network, ie Vodafone etc and the network does not allow mp3 tracks to be used for ringtones etc without DRM Rights.  Not sure if you guys are familiar with it.
I am not skilled in the area of DRM but thought I would give it a bash.  I may try different settings later and see if it's possible to get mp3's ripped to the HDD.
Anyone else been looking at DRM packagers and had success or willing to test the Sony method?

Not sure if a blank DVD+RW would be recognised as a Mixed Media Disc so will try that later too.

Let me know if anyone else tests out similar stuff.
