An internal marketing Q&A for Microsoft about confirm that Kinect will be bundled with consoles, and a $199 configuration of its new Xbox 360 will be available this fall.

There were no further details about this console's features, such as hard drive/onboard storage (if any) or WiFi, which is 250GB and internal, respectively, on the new Slim design.

Hopefully now when the old system's break everyone will just throw them in the trash. It is no longer at all economical to repair them.

i guess it was kind of to be expected that the slim would replace the arcade. i just want to know how much kinect will cost. the article doesn't make it sound like the $200 bundle will be including kinect

Hmm, I guess they mean the newer 360 (slim) but with no hard drive or wifi + kinect? Still a good deal for $199 considering $199 previously would just get you an arcade 360.

nooooo..  theyre saying a cheaper slim will be out. it will be $200.  just like now, you can buy the basic xbox arcade for $200.

still no word on the price of the kinect.  but theyre also saying that there will be bundles. so youll be able to buy a 360 slim and kinect as a bundle for whatever $ itll be.

They'll prolly just dumb down the drive size. I doubt they'd take the built in wifi out.

Amazon has it listed for 149.99 with a release date of Nov 4th.  I almost wish I hadn't bought the MW2 elite now.

I wonder if the $200 model will be a different color. White maybe?

Also wonder if it will have a smaller HDD or an onboard flash like current Arcades. Or maybe they'll just throw a USB stick in the box.

I kinda doubt they'd take the wifi out, but with MS you never know how they'll pinch a penny.

Well it's such a simple thing (internal WiFi) to remove/add (it just uses an internal USB port right under the top of the case), so it would be quite easy for them to leave it out, and it could be a part that you could either send it to have install, or probably actually install yourself. You don't need to actually disassemble the new 360 to get to where it is, or remove any type of warranty sticker. I would *hope* that they wouldn't leave it out, but I can picture them doing it.

Probably not. The exact wording is:

"An internal marketing Q&A for Microsoft about confirm that Kinect will be bundled with consoles, and a $199 configuration of its new Xbox 360 will be available this fall."

Which does seem to say that you get both Kinetic and console for $199, yes, but read it more carefully and you'll see that it says two seperate things;  1) the Kinetic will be bundled with consoles, and 2) the new Xbox 360 will be available for $199. It's worded carefully to give the (misleading) impression that both console and Kinetic will cost $199 together, when in fact it says nothing of the kind.

Deliberately misleading wording is common in the legal trade, and hardly unknown in the advertising business, though it should be illegal.

yeah, i thought the same thing, then re-read it because it seemed too good to be true, and it apparently was. i'm sure we'll have a price at the next big game convention. there is one in july, right? (i don't see them waiting until TGS [mid september] to announce a price)

I bet for the $200 price tag, they'll be selling pretty well during christmas season, along with a kinect bundle
