The thing is i have plugged it into several ports on a bridge and a router and it still says its not plugged in.

I tried it into a wirless bridge that you just plug a cat5 into and it still said it wasnt plugged in. I also made a new wire and plugged it directly in and it still says it is disconnected.

The weird thing is i played for several hours yesterday and it worked fine. I turned it on today and it now says it is disconnected. i didnt move any wires nor do anything else to it.

any suggestions/

Try a Cat5 cable tester to make sure your cable is 100% good if not. 1800-4-MY-XBOX

No question this isnt a cableing issue or a router issue.

I plugged my laptop into the same cable and it pulls an ipaddress just fine and connects to my network just fine also.

It is deffintely the card inside the xbox. However i bought my 360 from another forum member and dont think i will be able to get a warranty?

what do you guys think? will the 800 number provided give me any warranty? how can i check if my 360 is still under warranty?

Well microsoft was a lot of help. They said check the cables and it that isnt the problem then send it to us and 150 bucks and we will fix it!

WHAT A JOKE

I think im going to buy a wireless adaptor and see if it works that way. Id rather pay 75 bucks then 150.

pretty crappy that it breaks within 12 months and they just say tough crap..

If you click on "NIC Repairs" in my signature, you'll see I've fixed many many Xbox1 hardware network issues.

I've not seen any dead Xbox360 NIC issues, but MSFT used a similar part on the 360s, and I'd bet it's the same problem.

I'd be interested in taking a shot at fixing it.  I have a spare ICS1893BF chip out of a broken 360.

I only ask that you pay for shipping both ways.  It would be easiest if you sent the whole console so I can test, but to save shipping costs, you might just want to send the motherboard or the bottom half of the case, and you'd have to test when it is returned.

No guarantees, unfortunately, but I have a good feeling.  PM me if interested.

Cheers,

Exact same thing happened to mine a few days ago. It was working one day then the next day it wouldn't.

Sorry for bumping an old topic.

Same thing just happened to me, luckily its covered under warranty and I called microsoft in the nick of time (my warranty expires in two weeks) so everything, including shipping and handling, is totally free  smile.gif
