Hard Drive Question

yo i have a upgraded hdd 250 gb, i actually switched it to my retail 8 giger to play halo 2 on line, everything is working, but i wanna play my games on my hard drive. i was wondering if i switched my hard drive to the 250 gb to play games offline and switch when i wanna play online if i would be in hot water for doing this ???? please let me kno
