I suggest a router or a hub.

Or, use the Xbox system link cable for direct 1 Xbox to another Xbox

Wow, you have lost me. XBConnect "without Internet" version?

Several switches in between? People use routers, etc to hook Xboxes up without the Internet involved.

How many Xboxes are you trying to hook up? Where are they located?

well. its a student intranet with about 1800 users, about 100 xboxes but the internet connection (wich is broadband 155mbit) is firewalled, so nobody can use xbconnect and xlink ... so we would like to have a server in your network to play with our boxes...

.. - the xboxgw stuff... does not work...

.. and the router thing... the problem is, that the 1800 users are connected together in several networks.. (141.24.44.0 - 141.24.55.255).

And not everybody would like to have a router for his box.... when there is xlink or xbconnect which would do it if they just would do it without the internet (so we would need an xlink or xbconnect server to play with.... )
