okay, let me just mention ive never had an actual "retail" disc. with that out of the way i came across the popular Tm-34 black screen glitch whilke i was playing from the hdd. loaded the quicksave and it was fine. so the next day i boot up the game and all the menus at the save/load screen are garbled and seem like theyre not just randomly garbled but trying to spell something. okay whatever. so i try to play from the disc. same thing. fine, uninstall and try again. it installs fine but when i try to play from the hdd i get the "dirty disc" error. im also getting it trying to play from the disc. yet i can install fine from the disc. odd.

I had the garbled text happen the first time I tried playing. This happened when playing off the harddrive using blockbuster disc, and attempts to play off two different blockbuster discs. This is what I found: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=343631
