How do you activate 1080i functionality? Or does Halo 2 even have 1080i?

If you've got HD-TV enabled in the dash it'll run at the max resolution the game designers have set it too, to be honest I would've thought that'd be 480p. The xbox was pushed to the limits with graphics in Halo 2.

I've got the X3 bios, Evox, and XBMC, also have the HD cables. I can get 1080i working in XBMC but not the others, and when I try to play Halo 2 from there it switches back to 480p.

It has nothing to do with online.

The heighest res halo 2, and most xbox games support (there are a few that support 720p, and even fewer that support 1080i), is 480p.  Halo 2 supports 480i and 480p widescreen; 480p widescreen being the best halo 2 supports.

The reason it isn't supported is the xbox can't handle it ;) It'd run super slow at 720p and even slower at 1080i!

He's 100% correct.  Plus hex editing a game to support 720p is much more difficult then hexing it for 480p support.

Expect some news soon from Bungie about HDTV support for Halo and Halo 2 with the Xbox 360. Only heard a rumour so far but it sounds like they've done something special with the emulating profile to give High-Def support for both games :D

That would be freaking awesome.

If bungie figured out how to enable true 720p for both halo's, that would be a miracle, but if they only support upscaled 720p, i would be very happy.

Now if they would address the fubared FOV in halo 2, i would be in heaven.

I wouldn't.  Not getting the 360 for a while, but will be playing Halo 2 on Xbox and the competition would have a major one up, but it would be awesome if they did for you guys with a 360.  I would say odds are 1/1000 though.  LOL.

The 1/1000 shot has come in :P

Check the Xbox-Scene homepage for the news or Bungie.net for more info.
