damage wise, the grenades r fine. but i agree, they need 2 flip hogs. also the melee is REALLY weak. in halo1, it took 3 standing melees 2 kill sum1. now its 6! i would think a spartan, geneticaly enhanced cyborg can kill some1 in less than 6 hits.

it all depends on which weapon youre weilding... plus if you turn this satement around (and clean it up a little wink.gif ):
i wouldnt think a spartan, a geneticaly enhanced cyborg, would be killed by someone in less than 6 hits

that sounds about right...

if he can flip a tank over no problem i think he could kill someone in just one hit.

even someone that could 'flip a tank over no problem'? point being, they are the same person, they have the same strengths, if hes that strong, then logically he'd be more resiliant to damage... how can one master chief be stronger than another master chief?

I have done some research on this; comparing halo 1's melee with halo 2's.  This is what i found.

Halo 1:

In halo 1, all weapons do the same amount of melee damage.

Standing melee: 3 to kill

Moving into apponents melee: 2 to kill

Jumping down onto apponent: 2 to kill, but more power is taken each time


Halo 2:

In halo 2 all weapons do the same amount of melee damage except the rocket launcher.

Standing melee: 5 to kill

Moving into apponent: 3 to kill

Jumping down onto apponent: 3 to kill, but more power is taken each time

Rocket launcher standing: 3 to kill

Rocket launcher moving into apponent: 2 to kill

Rocket launcher jumping down onto apponent: 1 to kill.


I have used one of the halo 2 editors and reconfigured the melee attack in halo 2 to match that of halo 1's, both in mp and campaign.  It works perfectly.  So when i host all have this increased melee damage.

Having the halo 1 melee damage in halo 2 really make the game more balance for close range combat, especially for those, like myself, who do not duel wield much.

It would sure be nice if Bungie noticed this and is fixing it.  Because as is, melee is almost worthless.

theres only 1 master chief. the guys in multi we can call spartans.
either way, if a spartan should b strong enough 2 hit sum1 3 times n they die, or the opposite, it would make the game alot more balanced if the melee was stronger. with this weaker melee, whats the point when u can infict just as much(or more)damage when u can just shoot them?
