Progressive Patch Problem

After i installed the progressive scan patch for dashboard (not for DVDX) i cant boot my original dashboard.
What exactly does the patch do? Does it just make the dash progressive scan or does it do more? Do i need that install WITH DVDX Progressive patch to watch DVD's in PS?

Do you have a Progressive scan TV and adaptor hooked up?

If not, why on earth did you do this?

When you say "i can't boot my original dashboard" (sic), what do you mean? Does an error message appear? Is there a blank screen but the sound still works? If the latter, I'm with opjose.
