John Elway played his entire career missing ligaments in his knees and never had them repaired.
I've seen hockey players play the entire playoffs on two broken ankles.
Ronnie Lott permanently had a finger removed to play in a playoff game, that wasn't even the Super Bowl.
I'd be shocked in TO doesn't at least suit up and run a route. Even if he's not healed, you inject some pain-killers and have him run a dummy route to try and pull double coverage.
And that ends careers and ruins the next season. Ronnie Lott had Pinkys that had been broken so many times they were basically vestigial appendages. He couldn't use them, so why not cut them off.
Randy Johnson doensn't have cartiledge. He'll still pitch. But there's no real fix.
This is ridiculous. When you think of all the talented players that are forced to end their career far too early due to injury why risk it, when your presence on the field really won't matter. He's not going to be the normal TO. He's going to be a slow TO that can't run after the catch like he does so well. I don't want to see Owens career end up ending too soon due to injury like guys like Terell Davis and Sterling Sharpe.
