Ea Has Purchased The Rights To The Nfl For 5 Years
« on: December 13, 2004, 05:53:00 PM »

What a crock!  ESPN is clearly the better title and this is gonna hurt competittion.  That's right kiddies, bye bye ESPN NFL, Blitz, Gameday and any other insignificant game made by a company trying to create a superior product.  This is lame and I hope most of you will boycott EA.  Their games are getting stale and pushed into the market before they are ready.  I suggest to everyone that is upset by this please sign the petition below:

I know on this site does not condone downloading games but if this deal goes through I will NEVER Buy a Madden game until this deal is done.  Ea should not have the right to do this. What happen to fair practice. Not right for the consumer so im boycotting Ea sports for five years it looks like sad.gif

Im pretty sure that like 2 years ago EA did the same thing with Nascar! Fortunately in that deal EA was the only company that could make a playable Nascar game! ESPN Football owns Maddens ass thats why EA bought the rights! They new their reign was comming to an end! beerchug.gif

Well spank my ass and call me Nancy, I did a quick google search and nothing came up, so I figured it wasn't true...   It's a stupid move, I wonder how much EA had to pay for that....  well, hopefully Sega still makes a 2k6, I'm sure someone will put the real names and everything out on the internet for download.  <

Well the NFL has the right to do business with whomever they please.  Thats like when you go into Burger King and they carry Coke products. I am sure Pepsi would like to be there too but BK chose not to carry Pepsi. That analogy really isnt the same but you get the idea.

When you say EA shouldn't have the right, the NFL game them the right.

yeah i understand and unfortnatley that is true the NFL has the right to deal with whoever they choose but still unfair to the consumer. yall know Ea is going to charge up a roof to cover what they paid and we the consumers are going to get dicked. So im done with Ea as my way of boycotting this deal. I ll do my part to protest, maybe it ll do some good i hope.  <

Competition is a good thing.  Because of ESPN, EA lowered the price of Madden 2005 down to $20 after a few months of selling millions of copies at $50.  Now they can go back to keeping their price right at $50 all year until the new version comes out, and they don't have to worry about innovating since they are the only one.  <
