this current set of systems will have spent 4-5 years on the market when ps3 and xboxnext come out in 2006, im sure those 2 will spend at least as much time, so it wont be so bad

1 year, 4, whatever. in the end they always get replaced and the others become pointless. I don't even need half of my systems now because they're on the box!

In time, i won't need ANY of the past systems.

i think it's a little lame how consoles continue on the name of the previous one.... Sega had it right: master system, genesis, saturn, and dreamcast. Even though they lost at the console wars, they were still original. Wouldnt it be dumb sounding if nintendo's new console was the 'super gamecube'?
