Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Glitch List
« on: March 28, 2006, 01:36:00 PM »

So as much as I love playing SCCT Multiplayer my friends and I were looking for some new things to do. So we decided to play around with some of the glitches (We need something to do till Double Agent comes out)
Disclaimer: We only do this will our friends or people that know were playing around with glitches, we never use these in a real game and neither should anyone else.
I just wanted to throw up the HOW-TOs for the glitches that we were able to do, and maybe hope that more people add to this, just for fun. I know of a few more but these are the ones I know how to do. I know there are other Treads on this, but I wanted to kind of bring all those together into this general tread that’s been updated. So please add your own glitches that you have found in Chaos Theory, So we can add to this list.
Hope you enjoy it

Glitch: Retarded Spy
Areas: All | Mode: All | Person: Spy | Equipment: Charge Device & Spy Camera
1.   Fire a Spy Camera at a wall or object that you can reach.
  a.   Be at least a body lengths away from the Spy Camera you have just fired.
2.   Load some sort of chargeable item
  a.   (Flash Bang/Chaff Grenade/ect…)
3.   Click and hold the alternate fire trigger
  a.   (default Left trigger)
4.   Once the item is fully charged continue to hold the Left Trigger and open your inventor.
  a.   (default Pushing in the Right Directional Pad)
5.   With the inventory still open and the item still charged move toward the Spy Camera.
6.   Once you are close enough to the Spy Camera it will give you the option to remove it.
  a.   (once the menu shows up to remove the Spy Camera it dose not need to still be up for the rest of this glitch to work, just so it at least popped up)
7.   Now that the remove option has popped up and with the Left Trigger still held(with item still charged) and the inventory menu is still up, choose Spy Camera from your inventory.
  a.   (Once this is done you can get out of the inventory but the Left Trigger must still be held.)
  b.   (If this is done correctly Spy Camera should be loaded and the charge meter should be shown as full)
8.   Now with the Left Trigger still held walk up to the Spy Camera that you fired originally.
9.   When it ask to Remove the Camera choose to remove it
10.   While in the middle of removing the Camera (about a ½ second once you have pressed to remove it) release the left trigger.
11.   If done correctly your spy’s hands should be stuck in a weird position.
  a.   You can still do everything you normally can as a Spy, you’ll just look retarded doing it.

Glitch: Fast Moving Spy

4.   When the option to place the bomb appears choose to do so while your Gun is still out.
5.   When this Spy dose this have the other Spy unload his entire gun on the spy placing the bomb.
  a.   (This should shock the Spy and Deactivate the bomb that was just placed)
6.   The Spy who placed the bomb (or tried to) should now load his gun again.
7.   If done correctly his gun should be loaded but still in third-person while moving very quickly with the gun out.

4.   Load your Spy Camera from your inventory and fire one at the wall.
5.   Now exit the Spy Camera view and with the Spy Camera still on the wall Fire another Spy Camera directly on top of the first one.

i kinda miss things on pandora tomorrow before the patch where you could warp outside the maps and see the "mini-maps" and be a giant in the city!

i didnt read them all, but do you have the horse glitch listed? thats the all time coolest, where the spy gets glitched into the merc and they run around stuck together like a trotting horse!

that and, im not sure if its your "retarded glitch" but is that where their arms flop around like they are limp and out of socket? Because i remember doing something similar on pandora where you shoot a sticky, and right as you cancel it, your partner jumps on your head and that happens, you can climp up and hang from railings and it looks like you are a hanging corpse...

good times...

Are you sure it's Y also? Because when I change visions in the air, I can run immediately when I hit the ground from my fall. I'll try Y out someday. I never tried Y before, so I will try it out.

No. When you press Y, it doesn't do anything. You have to change visions in order to make a fast recovery from a fall.

i think its B then... although it doesnt make you not stutter at all when you fall, just gives you a quick recovery, you duck as you hit the ground, then hit B again to stand back up.

Well, you can do that too, but you will land softer when you hit the ground. You can also press B and switch visions after that. But without using B and switching visions, it's much easier to run and escape if you have to.

I made a mistake about thr retarded glitch. For spy and merc, charge up a grenade, switch to cam net(merc) or sticky cam(spy) and then press A to do the action. Then you just let go of L.

Wow there are so many more glitches in Multiplayer SCCT that you guys haven't even touched on. I'll be happy to list them if you guys care.

But the reason I am here, made this account, and on the computer at all besides playing SCCT is I'm trying to figure out how to do a certain glitch. I am wondering if you guys can help me figure it out.

Basically it let's you have the same gadget multiple times - two, three, or even four if you wish so. I kinda know the gist of it - if you get it, you can keep your multiple gadgets forever even if you unplug your Xbox as long as you don't alter your equipment. You can have 3 grenades and a backpack as merc, or 3 smokes for spy, or whatever you want.

I know it is similiar to the level change, ranked game, and change equipment glitches where you change the said settings without the other players notice. I know you turn all equipment on, then when everyone is ready you turn off alternate mode (while in deathmatch) and then launch. If you do it right, you go to the game and have one item. I know you are not supposed to check your equipment for this to work.

Now I think here is where I get stuck. I can successfully turn off equipment, and I know that much is right because I know it'll say "Your equipment doesn't work [sic]" when I launch. Then I think you turn all the gear on? Anyways... help.

So if anyone can tell me how to exactly execute the multiple same-gadget glitch, I would really appreciate it. If you guys want I can post the many glitches you have left out.

I understand the concern, but I don't see what is the big deal with this one. If a merc is stupid enough to bring more than one of the same gadget, he is a moron. You essentially need Grenades, Gasmask, Tazer, and backpack and if you don't bring that stuff your screwed or a newb. As for spies, there isn't really anything you would need to bring two of either as the same rationale applies for that, although you could argue you might want more of something since the whole Xbox 360 invisible problem.

My curiosity stems from how easy this is to pull off if you can do it, and what funny stuff you could do with it. Imagine a merc just standing shooting flare/grenade over and over, or a spy with an endless supply of flashes.

I see your a moderator so you have ultimate say, and if you still think that somehow this is an abusive glitch, then just say so. In the meantime, could someone PM me the answer?

If your think I'm wrong and that this glitch would actually help someone gain an edge on LIVE, I'll be happy to prove you wrong in some Deathmatch (Gamertag same as name).

By the way all the glitches listed so far could be used to gain an edge anyways.

i just dont like an unfair advantage on live... its ruined plenty of xbox live games, id rather not have it happen to the one i enjoy. sure not too many people read this board, so it wouldnt really matter too much, but still.

id be happy to play you also... and since there is a spytray/mine limit, the advantage would be minimal, but could really assist some spawn camping assholes (16 frags each) who look for glitches like these.

yeah... the retarted spy glitch has won me many rounds.
