I'll include anything "R&B" with the word "boo" under the category of "pop" as well.

I'd have to say about 11-13, I didn't really listen to music much before I was 10. I was more into cartoons, but I did have the TMNT soundtrack tongue.gif (Go ninja go ninja go!)
The year was 1995, my brother, 5 years older, just got the self-titled 311 Cd (blue), and we were on a road trip down to Florida. My brother, his friend, and I were hanging out in the back of my dad's explorer, listening to that cd the whole way down. I got addicted, and now 311 is on the top of my favorite bands list (altho they are becoming more and more mainstream, but not pop, hopefully sad.gif ). I'm now listening to bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Roots, N.E.R.D, Incubus, and Hoobastank.

I try to get hold of any old music i can because there is so much good music that came out before we were born or before we started to listen to our own music choices

Pretty much ever since I was self-aware.  I remember one of my favorite things to do when I was 3-4 years old was to have my older brother put on Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple.  ;)

Seeing as how Im only 15 I started listening when Eminem released Back from the Lab. I fell in love with it and memorized all the words. That gradually elavated to more underground rap (Sage Francis, Immortal Technique, etc.)

since I was about 7, I couldn't stand shit like N*SYNC and the fag street boys, I'm alot younger than most people on here, so I think that puts it in perspective.
