The Ultimate Matrix Collection...
« on: December 08, 2004, 03:54:00 AM »

The 2 questions i have to anyone who owns the set is:

1)  How does the new transfer of the first film look compared to the original release back in 99?

2)  Is The Matrix Reloaded and Extended Edition (possibly integrating scenes from the Enter the Matrix game)?  Some sites report it is and some say it ain't.

Same

I'm too lazy to sit here and write a review of the films.  But I will say that - even though, the second and third may have been a letdown to some - this triology is an epic.  The plot is very fucking disturbing.  The atmosphere adds perfectly to that.  And the casting - especially Agent Smith - is superb.  Played so wonderfully by Mr. Weaving, Agent Smith will definitely rank up there with the best of them in the best villans of all time soon.  These films have taken more out of me than any other sci-fi flick.. namely because of the dialogue and understanding of the riddles and messages throughout the films.  I was very confused as you must have been when the architect spoke to Neo near the end of the second film.  Thank God i had a dictionary.  While i didn't go searching for every fucking word the old bastard confused me with, I felt it was better this way.  To confuse the shit outta people - while actually making sense if you do understand what the fucker was saying.  The first film made me skip school for 2 days straight.  Crack anyone?  Obviously i took it a little too far, but fuck i was blown away.  Everything about this film was incredible.  From the stunts, to the camera work, to the CGI.  Goddamn.  The came the second film, what a letdown at the end.  That's my only problem.  I went to an early screening at midnight.  When the movie was over, everyone was scratching their heard at to who the hell was laying beside Neo.   And who the hell was the gurl (Monica Bellucci).  Third film was great but sad.  I felt they could have had a great end even with Neo surviving the whole thing.  But whatever, complaints aside, these films changed a lot for me in terms of how i look at the sci-fi genre in general.  I've wasted a lot of hours glued to the TV watching this epic.  I'd love to see a forth film.

I'm gonna pick up the set and give a review (more importantly if the matrix reloaded is a special extended edition).

And with that I'm zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I hated all these movies, none had an ending. The first was garbage, the second was okay at best. and i had no desire to see the third. I think the should have just made one movie and cut all the crap (almost entire first movie).

How can anyone stand watching Keeanu "Dude" Reeves? He has no emotion!

No offense but anyone who buys this is a tool. They should have never made the 2nd or 3rd movies, and way too many side projects, that have no purpose other than taking your hard earned dollar, have spawned off this "trilogy". 10 fucking discs? That's just insane. If you can watch 10 DVDs worth of Matrix bullshit...you need to go outside.

If you can watch 3 hours of LOTR.. then do the same.

Can't stand the LotR movies either. How the Hell do you release a 50-minute extended version of a 3 hour movie? I know it's a huge storyline, but come on for fuck's sake.

Well if you have ever read the book, and seen the movies, it makes sense. Its tough to capture a book so well and it shows that everyone who worked on the movie (and worked thier arses off) by the quantity AND quality of the LOTR films.

Well at least the first Matrix is pretty good . Forget about the trilogy and pretend its just one movie the first one and its a good movie. Not the greatest movie ever just good.
Oh and Ghost in the shell > Matrix. End of story

So because something takes a long time to get thru means you dont have a life or need to go outside?
You must not be one of them readers...you know books and such with all those words that usually take a couple days to finish.
Yeah people shouldnt waste their time with reading cus it takes up time.

Matrix was the shit and my question to someone who has the 10 dvd set is about the missing dvds.

Matrix 1 had a single dvd then came revisited.
Matrix 2 and 3 both were 2 disc sets.
In this release you dont get the 2nd disc's,you get Reloaded revisted and Revolutions Revisted. Why not have the 2 disc sets + revisted?

Am I right?Youre missing 2 bonus dvds...

Akira > Ghost in the shell.Eat it!!!!  :o

j/k
but Akira is better!!!
