Hmm?

Hi, I'm sort of new to the modding thing. At least for the xbox that is.

I read somewhere, that you can mod the xbox directly, using ftp software and your xbox internet IP getaway as the address.

If anyone knows of this, what might be the username and password to get in?

to mod games on xbox, you need access to the files.

To do so, you need to be running a custom dashboard that servers as a FTP server, so you can get those files onto your pc, and back onto your xbox hdd.

To get this custom dashboard, you need to be running unsigned code, either through a mod chip and a unsigned code bios or a soft-mod.  To set this up, refer to this tutorial for more info:

once you get access to the files, its just the same as PC modding (with a few exceptions, like compressing txds, ect.)

once you get access to the files, a good place to start would be with this tutorial:

good luck  smile.gif

Is there any way to connect to my Xbox using FTP, without a modchip?

Or did I completely not read that part of the tutorial?
[which was long =o]

yeah that tut is pretty long, but it also has a lot of good info smile.gif

to answer your question no, there isn't on a stock xbox.
plus m$ wouldn't do that to theirsleves  tongue.gif

your other option is to go with a softmod, but eitherway, the point of this is to modify your xbox to make your xbox a fully functional ftp server so you can connect to it via your pc.  It doesn't come stock like this, you gotta create it so.

hope that clears this up a little better  smile.gif
