Need Help With Mods
« on: April 24, 2006, 01:59:00 AM »

well it sounds like your installing more than one mod at a time which could create loading conflicts.  Also when you said you re-burned the iso, I'm assuming your using mods on a disc rather than the hard drive?
Well to be safe, you should run the game on the hard drive once, then use that "pre ran" data on the disc.

Use replace when installing mods into the gta3.img instead of deleting and adding. That is usually the cause with most people. It sounds like you have done everything else properly. wink.gif

That's what happened to me when my screen froze because I forgot to replace.

Some may not have been converted properly...  blink.gif

Check all the .txd's you replaced and see if it says "VC XBOX" down the bottom instead of "SAN ANDREAS". If they all are converted, I don't know what it could be..

Has it ever worked (backup) without any mods either?

That's strange.. Did you use exactly the same type of media which you burnt the files onto as you did when you got it to work? This is a tough one.. It looks like you have done EVREYTHING correctly.

Check your GTA San Andreas disc or case for the text "SECOND EDITION."

I had this SECOND EDITION for my xbox and I couldn't add anything to it. You can get the first edition off amazon or another simular site real cheap. I paid $21 for mine, and it worked great with all the mods on GTAXbox. But make sure they state that it is the first edition or that it can run with the Hot Coffee mod.

keep in mind that you can actually mod the second edition if you apply a patch to the xbe file (refer to my tutorial)
http://www.invisionb...ck&showtopic=45
however you cannot run the hot coffee mod because it was removed from the gta3.img file.

still its useful if you don't wanna spend $21 on a new game so you can run vehicle mods, reskins ect.
