Green Lines When Watching Avis
« on: April 10, 2005, 06:30:00 PM »

when I use XBMC to watch AVIs I have saved on my HDD they play with flashing green lines through them. When I play them with XBMP I don't get them.

Any idea why this is please ?

I like the layout of XBMC and use it to listen to my music so would like to watch movies with it as well :(

Also is there any way to close it down and get back to the main screen. At present all I seem to be able to do it turn the X Box off with the RED off button, the GREEN one doesn't do anything ?

Thanks

It help if you provide some info besides what colour the buttons are, also what build of xbmc do you have? I suggest getting a new one. I'm running 4/09/05.. everything is fine, and I watch a lot of avi's.

OK how do I find out what version I have ?

The buttons I am on about or on the main menu screen in the lower right. One is Green and brings up a menu to connect to internet radio movie trailers etc, and next to it is a Red Off button which turns the X Box off.

Thanks

I dont know what skin u r using, but you need to get to the system info and it will tell you the date of your build. In PM3 just click the right thumbstick and it will bring up a menu with system info option. There's obviously something wrong with your build though, so you should just find a new one. Check the usual places, if u dont know what that means search google.

OK I'm using the 'Symbols' Skin. This does have a re boot button in the bototm right so thats good. As for the version the right stick click didn't work and it still has the green lines.

Is there a skin out of the 4 that does show the version number ?

Thanks

Ok.. how many times do I have to say it.. GET ANOTHER BUILD! That will solve the green lines problem. Nobody else is having this prob so a lil common sense will tell you its your build. If you're using the one off of Slayers its seriously dated.. Now to find the system info go to settings. Do you really need to be spoon fed? I say get a new build and you go and get a new bios? wtf?

I was told the version of Slayer I used might have been old so re installing it with the newest one was 'updateing' it. Updating the BIOS was done because it was done, nothing to do with this problem I just mentioned it.

I'm trying to find the newest version now.

Well I have looked and looked and looked ands all I can find is the source code that needs compiling. I can't do that so looks like I'm stuffed :( Its 6 in the morning the sun is coming up. I need sleep and green lines can get stuffed. So I'll have to use XBMp instead.

Thanks and sorry for getting ratty it's been a bad week.
