Sorry I didn't read the entire TOS, but what I'm trying to do is more legal than most of what goes on here.  I have a non-modded box with a dead HDD, and I need Dash files for a 1.0.  I have a 1.1 box, but the dash is different or I would just FTP that. I obviously can't pull the dash off the "dead" hdd to put on the new one.  And this post was a last resort.  I did a search and kept gettting errors.  Search seems to be down a lot here. And how is it a copyright violation when the files are pre-compiled, non-hacked, and I am enttitled to them as an owner of an xbox.  It's what makes the xbox work!  Sorry for violating, but I have found no info so far.  I won't make another post like this again.  Just trying to get a box up and running again. <

Copying the dash files from your 1.1 should work just fine, whether it was the same version dash as before or not. <

Talking about the files is fine. Asking for the files or asking someone to send them to you is against the rules. I've copied my original xbox C drive files to a number of boxes while softmodding. With the newer softmods the version of the box doesn't matter. Kernal version will if your planning on using kenal specific fonts. But most use the generic fonts which should work on all kernal versions (most of the time anyway). <

Ok, so you could use the dash from slayers.  I still don't understand how you would copy the files to an unmodded XBOX HD.  Lastly, I wasn't aware of a difference between 1.1 and 1.0 dash as you state (although maybe I just haven't heard about it.)
