Yes, and it's done.  I had actually already ported this (and a few others) that I've been sitting on while trying to sort out some skinning since I cannot get a hold of JRed anymore.
Actually to the contrary - if it is basically a wrapper around Bochs, I'm going to stay as far away from it as possible.  That port gave me the most trouble that I can remember out of everything that I've done.  And it didn't even work very well.  (Well, that's unfair to Bochs.  I should say that it was very accurate (probably moreso than DOSXBox), but horribly slow on the XBox.)

badass dude!
looking for to release time, this is freakin awesome!

Yeah those are both also done - I'm putting my (very) limited artistic abilities to use in making skins for all these things.  Everything should be out by sometime this week.

There is a talented individual by the name of neverwill on the boards that has make some fantastic looking skins. I like both his emu and dashboard skins. Perhaps he would be willing to help you out? I am sure you have seen his work in ZsnexBox among others.

Fantastic!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Hey Xport maybe you could try and port Pcsx2 and see how it runs. Their are plenty of open source plug-ins too. http://www.pcsx2.net/

I've actually already recruited him for a skin on something else.  He's only one person though and has limited time.  It's a non-issue now, though, as I'm about to post news....

I seriously doubt that would run any way near a playable speed.
To even get it to play at a decent speed a dual core system is needed.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could mod the xbox with an Intel Conroe CPU.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jester.gif)

Can't thank you enough for all your your effort spent porting these great emulators.A BBC emulator would be nice and so too would an Archimedes running on Xbox but perhaps that is more demanding an emulator?.

Off topic sorry , is it ever likely to happen that the Simple 2x filter will be included into Winuaex just to tidy up the slight blur.Truely wonderfull port and i would be lost without it but Simple 2x would be a nice addition to help clear the pixels up.You have already worked miracles getting Winuae running so well and i guess there is very little memory left but perhaps just enough for one filter.

many thanks

BBC is already in the list of potentials.  Archimedes....mmm probably not so much.

Simple2x (or any filter for that matter) on WinUAEX would eat up too much extra memory that could be put to better use for the various game-configuration-settings.  On top of that, WinUAEX is just about at the threshold of what the XBox can handle (and in fact many games already do not run at 50/60 fps).  Adding any kind of filter would lower the performance even more.  Have you tried fiddling with all of the hardware filtering options (like flicker filter, soften, point filtering, etc, etc)?

Thanks for your response.I do use Winuae with flickering set to zero and at times i select point filtering too. Point is very clear of course but at the expense of pixel accuracy. In any case it is such a minor quibble i am making here frankly and i feel just very lucky to be able to play Amiga so well on my Xbox.

Nice to know a BBC emulator is a potential , it was not the most important of 8bits here in the uk but still a very important machine as far as it's use in schools. Similar with Archi i think but a little less so - PC soon took over shortly after. Both had quite a good following actually though not as great as the more popular machines.

Thanks again

Sorry for filling this thread with unrelated but i wanted to point out to you how FLAVOR has discovered how to achieve just about perfect results regarding pixel accuracy while having point filtering selected.

.....................................................................
  For purists only...

If you set your resolution to 720x480 or 720x576 and use a custom screen size of 907x622 you're pretty close to the real thing. No scaling will occur and no need to use billinear filtering.

I found this screen setup with the help of Dpaint. Filled the screen with a dot pattern and looked for scaling artfefacts or moirés.

907x622 sounds a bit odd...but it seems to work just perfectly.
......................................................................

Bit obvious i guess but my method would have been less technical and rather more like looking for needle in a haystack so iv'e always been slighly put off by it.See what you think too.

Noticed today that you have already have a very well working method for correct stretching of screen that comes up when you attempt to position screen as an option. If i had bothered to work out what the black and white lines of fuzz were each time i chose this option , my ever so slight problem would have been answered already by you - sorry for being a donut. The most perfect screen it seems then for point  is 908 , 624.

I'll be quiet now.
