"master Code Is Not Valid" Error ?

I modded an xbox for a buddy of mine and put XBMC on it (recent build". We ran it at my place and it all worked fine.  He called me today telling me that when he goes into XBMC from his dashboard he gets an error something about "Master code is not valid. Please enter a valid master code."  I have never seen this before and have used this exact build on many xbox's.  He was running MC360 as a skin and I thought it might just be an issue with that, so I told him to delete the skin.  Apparently it still does the same thing. Any ideas?
