I Just Modded A V1.0 And Made Xbmc The Def. Dash..
« on: September 30, 2005, 04:33:00 PM »

A) I made a post a few days ago stating that my "My Music" selection on the front screen isn't working. We figured this was due to me using the "Pimped Edition". Well yesterday I got the T3CH version from the usual places, and I'm still having the same problem. On both Xbox's.

B) When I go into the appearence settings in XBMC in the V1.0 Xbox, I don't have the option of selecting 480p 16x9. The only options it gives me are: 480p 4:3, 720p 16x9 (My TV doesn't support 720p), and 1080i 16x9 (The fonts are far to small for everyday use).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whoops. Apparently when it said "the board was too busy to handle my request", it lied.

Non-inentional double post.

480p is not a widescreen resolution. Do you have a widescreen tv? if not why are you trying to set the UI to widescreen? if so what tv is ws without 1080i or 720p?

Xbmc will still display the widescreen videos with black bars on your 4:3 tv. It will actually crop and stretch videos in a many number of ways. Press 'back' during a video

480p is as a matter of fact, a 16x9 resolution. In fact, my V1.6 is set to 480p 16x9.

Yes, I have a widescreen TV. I sold these things for a living, I know the capabilities of my television. It can handle 480p, and 1080i. It cannot handle 720p.

As I stated above, I don't like 1080i due to the fonts being far too small for everyday use.

Update.

When I first noticed the resolution issue, I checked the MS dash to see enable 480p and 1080i. I did so, then went back to XBMC, and it still didn't give me the option for 16x9 in 480p.

I just checked it again, and XBMC wouldn't get off of NTSC 4x3. So I went back into the MS dash, and somehow 480p and 1080i were disabled. I enabled them, and I now have 480p 16x9.

Also, I switched skins, and now my My Music selection works. So apparently it's a problem with PMIII
