Has Anyone Installed An Hd Dual Fan Cooler?
« on: December 15, 2005, 03:41:00 PM »

hey sup:
I was wondering if someone had installed this type of HD cooler on the xbox?
Since these connect directly to the Molex splitter it should be really easy.
But I was wondering if the molex power source from the xbox is enough to power this cooler+HD+leds...

Is it ok to install one?

Im not familiar with PC stuff but I read somewhere around here, that even an xbox with some leds have problems booting up sometimes...
now if I install this thru the molex splitter + leds wont it have some effect in the xbox's performance, in both the "booting-up" and well everytime?

i shouldn't think so if you can add 80mm fans, USB sockets, extra leds etc, without it effecting your performance i think you can add that with no problem's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

where can i buy that i want to do it now ^^

That's the one I've used in the past. This and a dremmel make installation very easy.
It's not just a hdd cooler... It's an Ultra Thin hdd cooler.

It's only $13 plus shipping and you can get it here.

It should work fine.

A lot of people say that you can have a lot of stuff in your xbox without it effecting the voltage and electrical ish and mess things up. But when I have an 80 mm fan and an extra 40 mm fan wired up, my hard drive clicks and doesn't work a lot of the time, and my xbox will Frag or give me an error code 3 out of 5 times.

So I dunno... but since very few people have this issue, I'd say that you should be just fine.
