how do you edit these files? im using flashfxp and i can view them and close the directories but it iwill not let me edit the content.  Sorry if this is a dumb question, i have been searching all over this site and i have had no luck on this topic.

You can edit them in word pad.

well word pad messed it up, and to be sure i made a back up, but when i save it in word pad as unicode it still doesnt work....

What's the file? What do you mean by "messed it up?"

I use notepad, wordpad, etc.  Wordpad generally yeilds better results.

its the xbox.xml file, xbmc wont even start up anymore, so i deleted it, and reinstalled it using avaluanchs download section..... Im just tryin to get my movies to work, they work fine on my friends xbox and he copied everythign over to mine... does anybody have aim or something?

The way you worded it, it sounded like he copied the movies from his xbox to yours.

yeah, and we were roommates in auburn also, had almost all of the same movies, but not to sound crude, but you never answered the question  :huh:

so jus tsave it with the unicode sample and with .xml as its extension? b/c i did that and put back the original coding before i started messing with it, and now it doesn twork period
