I assume you were trying to do it as a service so heres what you do
1.) Tell your friend hes a dumbass because he cant help you
2.) Take the relax files and put them into a folder called relax and put that in c: so it should be C:relax
3.) Go to the run command and type c:relaxrelax.exe -install
4.) After that open a command prompt from run (cmd) and make sure rleax is running as a service (net start) and if you dont see it type net start relax
5.) Then just open up relax_ns.exe (c:relaxrelax_ns.exe) and edit your shares then save it (ctrl s) and then it should work
6.) This is what i did to make it work and i never had a problem with relax it all runs perfect so i dont see anything wrong with doing it this way which seems to be the right way.

edit also make sure in your xbox media player config.xml file your XNS shares are setup like how you have them configured in your relax client

thats how mine is in my config.xml file
