Can Someone Tell Me What I'm Doing Wrong

I assume you were trying to do it as a service so heres what you do

1.) Tell your friend hes a dumbass because he cant help you
2.) Take the relax files and put them into a folder called relax and put that in c: so it should be C:relax
3.) Go to the run command and type c:relaxrelax.exe -install
4.) After that open a command prompt from run (cmd) and make sure rleax is running as a service (net start) and if you dont see it type net start relax
5.) Then just open up relax_ns.exe (c:relaxrelax_ns.exe) and edit your shares then save it (ctrl s) and then it should work
6.) This is what i did to make it work and i never had a problem with relax it all runs perfect so i dont see anything wrong with doing it this way which seems to be the right way.

edit also make sure in your xbox media player config.xml file your XNS shares are setup like how you have them configured in your relax client
(ex: D:[email protected])
thats how mine is in my config.xml file

oomg, is relax that hard to setup????... wtf?
all i did was simply extract to a folder, create shortcut to startup menu and click on the icon!!!
of course to drag and drop folders to share as well....and make sure xbmp's configs are correct.....duh....what's this abt cmd line?....

This is relax as a service so you dont need to always have to click relax.exe to start the server it automatically starts when ur pc starts like all the other services installed on ur pc

hi guys,

I was the one who helped him out. I did exactly as mentioned and then some. I know perfectly what I'm doing. All config files are set, and everything is installed as it should be, exactly the way I have done it on my pc and my xbox (which, mind you, is working 100%) ips and directories are all set and ready to go.

Now, this is where the problem starts, not the installation, not the setup and not the configuration. The problem is that the relax server on my friend's pc doesnt seem to be connecting up to the xbox successfully. Yes we did install the Relax server via the run command and got a confirmation message. His network between his pc and the xbox is also fine, since we just used ftp to transfer xbmp to his xbox.

Any help would be appreciated, a dumbass I may be, as I am totally stumped right now.  wink.gif

Add a shortcut to your Startup folder and you don't have to click a thing....

Social-Zero what are you a sensitive kid or something?? jesus christ....and let me rerfrain again....the point the relax coders made a service to install is for people to install it as a service...ONCE again this is how i did it and NO it does not slow the pc down a considerable amount to even notice. I like it as a service because i dont want to run upstairs to activate the server everytime and about the shortcut startup thing which is a cool idea didnt think of it but its the same thing as it being a service.

It hasn't got anything to do with being sensitive actually...
You just have to be carefull about certain things you say
against people you don't even know...
