Hi all, newb here...but been lurking and learning for a bit now...just a question...

Right now I have both a v1.6 XBox and v1.2 Xbox. I want to mod one of them of course but there are no bios out for the 1.6 yet. I mean I could wait for it to come out and mod that one but what are the advantages of have a v1.6 versus a v1.2? I doubt it's any faster or anything. Or is any Xbox is just an Xbox? Thanks! <

There is NO advantage of owning a 1.6. With your 1.2, you have 3 options of modding it (Chips, TSOP flashing it, or exploits). With the 1.6, you have one (Chips) and even so, there aren't bios to support it... <

1.6's suck. When buying another xbox I bought a refurbished one just so i knew i wasnt getting a 1.5/1.6. I gota 1.2, :lol: . <

performence is the same. the only different thing is the motherboard. no advantages from modding any of the two. itll come out the same.

The DVD drive might be better on your 1.6 since its newer. That would be nice to have. <

The one on the 1.6 was a Philips while the 1.2 was a Thompson. I just switched the two. Test both xbox and both runs fine. <
