You could start the same playlist from upstairs and downstairs at the same time nad turn off shuffle.

try VLC stream, stream the music from the pc and open the stream in another vlc to play it on the pc and then make a pls file to play it on the xbox, i duno what cache timimg would be like, but it might work.
