I asume you just wanna stream the NASA TV, there is no need for a script or any firefox addons or anything.

make a txt file and inside it put

http://www.nasa.gov/...ATV_Windows.asx

rename the txt file to NASA TV.strm and stick it in your videos section. and BiNgO you have NASA TV

I've made the low quality version work but has anyone had any luck with the QuickTime version?  It streams at much higher quality and would be much more pleasant for the TV screen.

I'm referring to the stream linked from here:

http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/

The Quicktime link is a 320x240 stream instead of a 120x60.  When I try and play it via the RTSP link QuickTime reports, XBMC tells it's an invalid Real Media stream before aborting.

Is it some sort of codec problem?

I can get the 150k WMP Nasa TV stream to work by using the instructions above with the following url:

but the 300k WMP Nasa TV stream just hangs while attempting to contact host:

Does anyone have an idea of how to get the 300k stream to work? I also can't get the streaming quicktime version to work with a strm file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I just tried this - copy and paste this to notepad file and rename .strm

mms://uklwmod024.ukl.bcst.yahoo.com/bcenc202231?StreamID=28241229&b=9thl5o92890uk45089782&s=792722768&CG_ID=1369081

It's 300K and works great for me with build 09/13/2006 XBMC.
