Yes it would. But you can "only" do it on 1.0->1.5 xbox´s and the memchip is ~$40 bucks.

Then you need some skills to solder it in.

I've got a 1.6 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

oh well, I'll just be happy with 720p (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's funny you mention that pike...I've been using XBMC in 1080i 16:9 on a NTSC 32" Sammy CRT HDTV....every now and again (depending on the file) I get some issues - severe hiccups, not playing the file etc.

Same here. After reading this thread, I tried switching from 1080i to 720p and now all my problem videos play just fine! 720p for me now!

just a thought regarding this comment ...

because the current default skin (Pm3) seems to take up a lot of memory, and Blackbolt's new skin MC360 will be tiny in comparison due to it's use of vector graphics, will this free up a sizeable amount of memory that could help rectify this problem?

720 always, 1080 eats mem for breakfast, mem the xbox doesnt have

If you do not have an HDTV, then you are using 480i (if you're in an NTSC country like US) and probably 4:3.

I generally use 1080i becaues my 40" tv doesn't do 720p.  I like the upconversion of videos, but I really wish there was an option to increase the font size or an option to switch to a different resolution when videos are played.  It's too damned small at 1080i.  The font size at 480p is a bit larger than I'd like, but definitely preferable to squinting at the TV all the time.  If I had a larger 50" or 60" TV I don't think it'd be a problem, but I don't so that's neither here nor there.

Using 720p here. Even the flubber looks good in HD (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

not 1080p. xbox doesnt support it (and very few displays have 1080p inputs)

I had no idea so many people were running in 16:9. This poll alone just makes me want to get a widescreen monitor now.

But maybe its just a bias that people with better TV's want to append their vote to a survey. Statistics... can't trust'em...

720P here on a Hitachi 42v525 which does 720p natively
Ran it in 1080i for the longest time before i bothered to check the resolution and found out it wasn't running in my TV's native res.

And XBMC with PMIII does feel snappier in 720p now that people mention it

43" Pioneer PDP436-XDE at 720p is for me.  But my xbox is out of action for a bit due to case modding.

How do I change the resolution to 720p?  I have not been able to find it ANYWHERE in xbmc settings.  Is it in the XML file?
