Same here. The only time I kick out to UnleashX is to update XBMC. Until XBMC can update itself cleanly, this is the way it will be.

i use xbmc as my main dash on a softmodded xbox. i really like the look and feel of it. especially in media related use.(watching my tv shows and letting my kids call up movies in the bed rooms from my media server)

XBMC for the win!
I use my box to stream movies, listen to music , pics and so on. As you all know that is what XBMC is designed for so works great and the FTP is fast so.. that be it.

I recently switched my dash to XBMC. I was using UnleashX for the longest time and I used XBMC as an application. However, I was always starting my xbox and then going into XBMC so I figured why not put that as my main dash? It is awesome!

Due to the constant upgrading I prefer xbmc as an app and Unleash/Avalaunch as dash for ftp speed and hdd formatting options.

The xBox Media Center can update itself just fine! Also, you can upgrade it just fine through FTP with either UNLEASH X or The xBox Media Center.

xBox Media Center is my default dashboard everyone - it is epic.

Xbmc ALL THE WAY lol, i had avalaunch when i first bought this modded xbox and used that for like 4 years then i started googling stuff and found out about XBMC and now i use that for emulators/games/videos/pictures and other epik stuff lol

I've been using XBMC as my default dash for months, but I just got into using my xbox for backups and I found that most of the non-XBMC dashboards have a much higher compatibility. Not sure why this is......?

When you say a much higher compatibility, are you saying that some of your game backups won't run from XBMC but will run from other dashboards? I have never had this problem and I have been using XBMC for years on many different versions of Xbox.

Do you have any trainers turned on that may be causing an issue?
What version of XBMC are you using?
What version Xbox? Can't see that this would matter though.
What backups have you had trouble with in XBMC?
How are you ripping your games?

Only ever used XBMC as the dashboard. Evo, Unleash, Avalaunch were ugly and served no purpose other than launching games.
