What xbox version do u have ? Mine is 1.1 /w the samsung dvd drive the one /w 2 holes on both sides. I have no problem playing divx and xvid videos on my xbox. I tried all the cd-r brands works fine. But I tried one on my friend's xbox his dvd drive can't read cd-rs. I guess he has the new xbox version and  I think it's a thompson dvd drive.


  Or maybe the video was not burned properly. Did u try playing it on a pc? Was it slow? Sometimes that's the problem. And one last thing, use the latest XBMC.
