DAAP is the protocol that iTunes used to share (stream) music between clients. There is an open source program which has recently been developed for use on *NIX systems and is written in C++, this program also includes rendevous code to find shared libraries automatically. This program I speak of is
here on sourceforge. In addition, this protocol is a specialized version of DMAP which is what is used in iPhoto for picture sharing... so it extends beyond just listening to mp3s/m4as. Since it is built for a *NIX environment (multithreaded too) how difficult would this be to implement in XBMC/XBMP? I hear 'if there only was a good opensource ____ emulator, we'd have it on the xbox' alot in the emulation forum so it got me thinking and doing research.
