XBMC Vs XBMP

xbmp...i use it for relax shares (which browse a lot quicker than smb), controls are more intuative.  I don't use xvid or anything like that, but if i did i'd go to xbmc

granted...when i finally get an HDTV (next year probably), xbmc is going to be amazing.  Regardless of my current views i'd like to thank the xbmc developers for their continued support of the homebrew scene and look forward towards future updates of their application.

Yeah, the remote issue is kind of frustrating, I wish that the keymapping was more like XBMP, but I have to say that that is a small price to pay for such a well-designed app.  Now that it plays Xvid without a problem, it's great, I like the extra buffer it gives to video files, lets me pause them longer without error.

XBMP because:

- it is most compatible with my Divx in Avi OpenDML format
- it is fastest when I start play movies from cd/dvd (with big avi files too)
- it plays smoothing (XBMC plays my movies with frequent lost frames)

For me XBMC is best for the image quality.

Bye!

That seems like a bit of a contradiction.  Do you mean that "XBMP" gives you the best quality?

XBMC for me. Everything seems to work well, good file format support and, as many people have said, it is the future!

When the bugs are ironed out and new features implemented this will be one hell of a program - but it works well enough today for me to remove XBMP.

I still favor XBMP over XBMC but the gap is getting smaller and smaller.  I don't know if any else has experienced this but XBMC seems a little sluggish.  I like the features of XBMC but when it comes down to it XBMP is easier and quicker to get things done.

XBOX MEDIA CENTER cause it looks oh so sweet on High Definition Televisions, and is the HDTV Heaven. Simply amazing app i must say plays all my Pal and NTSC movies perfect as well as does 720p and 1080i!

I finally made the change but XBMC is defintely the player for me (I'll keep XBMP at least for a bit just in case.) I was using the last VCS release of XBMP so I could play RM files but this kicks ass. I miss the fast forward bar but the Dpad shortcuts (Push left or right does skips forwards/backwards push up & down skips even more) work very well. XBMC feels so god damn sexy just make sure you turn post processing off.

Isn't center just an extension of player...made by the same people?
