XBMC Vs XBMP

XBMP is the only one that works. I don't know what the point
of XBMC is. You can't play more than one video file at a time so its useless.
Doesn't make any sence to me not having this feature.

You are watching two movies at the same time?   dry.gif
(there us a playlist for mp3s and one for videos will follow biggrin.gif)

I switched to xbmc. Its much more stable.

A movie ripped from a dvd has four or more VOB files. In XBMC you can only play
one at a time. No play list for videos, which makes no sence at all.

XBMC because its what I found first so its what I'm used too.
I think thats what it boils down to... user preferance.
I put XMP on my an xbox I hacked for my dad just before leaving for work(I work on a cruise ship 6 month contracts) but I have put media center on xboxes here and like it alot I don't know if my dad will want his changed but I prefer XBMC.

smile.gif. XBMP is my choice . Reason... Simplicity, eas of use, friendly interface, stability, nice skins, I've been using it since they started it. I will continue 2 use it until XBMC surpass all  of the features that XBMP has to offer.

U can learn something from everybody smile.gif.

I choose XBMC, though it's just a noselength ahead at xbmc.

XBMC seems more stable, doesn't crash that often playing movies.
Feature-wise it still lags behind xbmp.
I especially like the xbmp-features like to input the exact time for movies,
playing, skipping, ff mp3's with remote and video-playlists. All of these are
not in xbmc. XBMC has a lot faster network browsing.
I wish I could turn off hd spindown!

XBMC cause of the AC3 pass-through and I mainly use it for AC3 encoded divx xvid.

Missing:
Proper folder browsing, hard just to go up one level (at least with remote)
Keymap for remote. I know I can set it myself, just seems the usability of XBMP was perfect, why change it all around
FF / RW

Overall great work and promising progress with each release

Ive got alot of mp3 and xbmc sweet with them, it uses the ID3 tags well.  I like the way it scans for media and files.  Great it uses album art on the tags as well...

I chose XBMC simply because I MUST have the newest thing out there at any given time.  That and I really like the UI sizing stuff.

I went from MP to MC a few times and settled on the latest MC CVS build.

The functionality with the stock Xbox remote is too damn cool too... Thought I'd throw that in too. I didnt know until a few days ago that was even possible! I am a typical man, reading is for sissies! I tear it apart THEN read about why I shouldnt have torn it apart that way, most of you understand, right?

XBMP because it works great with streaming of LARGE VIDEO FILES extracted from my Tivo (4GB and up).  XBMC will NOT stream large files.
