You deleted the whole XBMC directory except for the XML file?  Are you sure you transferred over all the skin files?  Does using the default configuration file solve the problem (maybe your config file is messed up?)?

Yeah, me too.  Last 2 compiles have froze upon launch (sticks at the loading screen, on MXM).  I delete the entire directory, copy the files, and delete the saves, no luck.  And yes, I do infact know this is alpha software, I'm not complaining, just saying what's up.

I was having the same problem, so I went through my .xml file and found an error.  I fixed it and it loaded right up.

What error was it?  I looked through it a few times, didn't see any error that I would have caused.  Just some shit that looks odd, like no <videoextensions> tag, just a </videoextensions> tag, and the last version that worked had the same shit, though it didn't cause a problem that time around, so I'm not sure whether or not that's it.  Anyway, I hope they get it fixed soon.

The most recent two builds have worked for me. Try this:

Install an earlier build. Then (without deleting the files from the earlier build), upload a current build on top of that.

If you compare the zipped file sizes you will notice that the zipped file size in recent builds is quite a bit smaller than previous builds. I suspect that there are some crucial files which are missing.
