Win98 And Softmod.
« on: January 26, 2007, 07:17:00 PM »

Will installing win98 on my xbox take away the ability to play the xbox? From what i see, you need to run under linux, what is the best method?

The only thing i would require would be functional usb. I would just use it to run a small progrram that uses next to nothing for memory/cpu, and transmits data through a null modem cable. I would use a usb to null modem adapter. If i can surf/download small(600 kb) files,  that would be a plus.

Been reading through post from the search engine, but alot of them were slightly older, and i didn't see anything about whether or not installing would overwrite softmod data.

You can configure Linux to support your USB serial adapter, and then modify the QEMU configuration so that the resulting serial device appears as a serial port in the emulated machine for Windows to use.
