Bsod's On Win98 Setup In Qemu
« on: October 01, 2006, 07:37:00 AM »

It it normal to get tons of BSOD's and having to keep shutting down QEMU and restarting to resume the setup process? I'm following the tutorial on PSP Hacker. But since I've gotten to the Time date portion of the setup I've been getting dozens of BSOD's. I just keep continuing and it seems ot be going on with the install.

I'll wait till it's done and see if it's usable. But is this normal?

Best I can do is get into windows in safe mode. In normal all I get now is it keeps starting at the time zone portion. No matter what I do it gives me a BSOD and then I hit a key and it goes to a black screen and stays there. But if I choose safe mode it will boot win98 up.

Any ideas?

I got it figured out. I found a post stating to boot into safe mode, run msconfig, then select to force hardware compatibililty. It worked.
