Linux Wont Run Batch Files
« on: June 02, 2005, 04:38:00 PM »

So yeah, how do i get linux to recognise and run .bat and/or .exe files? when i click them to run all i get is a window that says "What would you liek to do with this file" it gives the option to create a new filetypw for the extension, add the extension to an existing filetype, enter a command to open with, view and close. Ive never used Linux before so im totaly confused. a little help please?

first off, Linux doesn't nativley run windows executables, let alone BAT files. You'll need to get either Wine or Cedega to run windows apps in linux... BAT files can be adapted in linux as BASH script files... they're similar... I recommend reading up on linux... check out all the free documentation on the net for linux/unix...
