MaxP, does this really work ??
I am pulling my hairs out trying that. See http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=639660

You mentioned WMC but I only have Win XP with WMP 11. is that is that problem ?
That is, I have to have WMC running on the PC to be able to play .mpg files from my USB stick ?

My xbox dashboard version is 2.0.6683.0. What version is yours ?

yeah i couldnt do it either..renaming i mean. tried EVERY possible solution, transcode360, tversity, renaming vob to mpg ...nada! i ended up clearing my hd, re-ripping 30-40 movies i havent seen and using videoredo to convert for playback in dvrms. that works for now, hopefully by the time i watch all of them (or need the disk space) someone will figure out a way to stream a video_ts folder for non-re-encoded play:)
