Have you tried deleting the cache files??  E:\Cache X:\ Y:\ Z:\ ?  I had freezing issues with NFL 2k5 and NHL 2k5 from blockbuster and thought it was the disc, but I deleted E:\Cache and they worked perfectly.

i was thinking bout that the other day but wasnt sure if it would have any real effect, i just assumed the cache would be dumped when a game was played... ill give it a shot in a few days when i get that game again.
