Title: Go On Xbox
Post by: giwen on June 19, 2005, 01:12:00 PM
Would it be possible to port an existing 'Go game to XBOX. I am setting this as a challenge to any reading homebrew developers.

There is a PS2 version of the game commercially available but while the game is very popular in Asia and Japan, it is not so in the West.

I am asking mainly for my Dad, who teaches 'Go' applying it to various events and learning, he now uses an XBOX I 'upgraded' for him to show various media in presentations, perphaps uniquely, not owning a single game original or otherwise.

Please post or contact me directly [email protected] (remove NOSPAM) if you feel you could help with this.

Try a google on the game, 'Go' or 'Goban' if interested, his website is www.zenmachine.co.uk. 'Go' is referred to as 'The Most Challanging Game in the World' around as complicated as playing four games of Chess at once, with no computer able to beat the best human player, yet!

Any takers?

if you want a port of this you should give us a site where we can download the game and its sourcecode,
not just a link to your dad's site and a "google for it"  blink.gif
dont expect people here to waste their time searching for something that YOU want.

no hate just telling how it is.

Sorry!

What source code is best, platform?

Here are some I've found:
Source CGoban

FreeGoban source

GNU Free Go distro

Also a Gameboy version is available, shame it's in Jap. called 'Hikaru No Go (2)'

Thanks
