Title: Zsnexbox Where To Put Ips Files
Post by: tcrowe76 on July 09, 2009, 01:57:00 AM
Sorry if this has been addressed.  The forum search seems to be broken and the Google search of the forum is somewhat lacking.

I know ZSnexbox supports IPS patch files, but where do you put them?  With the ROM?  In the save folder?  I've read both although that was from a much older version's documentation.

Can anyone explain how to make use of IPS files with SNES roms?  Thanks

You have to patch the rom file w/ an IPS patcher like IPSwin, I believe is the old standby. Zophar's domain has it.

Hmm, yeah I started to look into that.  I should have followed through but then I read that you could just drop the ips file in with the rom and ZSnes would figure out how to do the soft patch.  I guess that feature doesn't work in v3.3 (?).

Thanks a lot.  That works well.

BTW, I used UIPS for Mac OS 10 and it works great.

Why do people always forget good old xSnes9x by Lantus?

You can apply ips patches without paching the original roms. This great feature is missing in the ZsnexBox afaik.
