Title: Flash Tsop With Tsopd6 Bios
Post by: b01 on September 16, 2003, 09:36:00 PM
OK, Has any1 tried to flash an xbox 1.3 TSOP from the new EvolutionX dash, utilizing the new tsopD6 bios provided with the dash. I assume that you just put the tsopD6 bios on your mod-chip the take the Matrix TSOP flashing steps to flash a 1.3's tsop.

Or has anyone installed the new EvolutionX 3921 dash and tried to flash a winbond chip from EvolutionX. As I understand it, they have added support for flashing xbox 1.3 TSOP from EvolutionX dash now. All you would need to do is add the code for the winbond chip (which they apparently left out).

I ask, because I dont have a 1.3 on hand right now.

YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO PUT THAT BIOS ON THE TSOP OF YOUR XBOX.

the tsopD6.bin bios is meant for people who want to use their mod-chip to flash the Xbox's onboard TSOP.

You are supposed to put it on a mod-chip, then try to flash the tsop with the Matrix TSOP instructions.

If you put this BIOS on your xbox's TSOP, then you will have to find a way to flash the TSOP again, as this bios is not meant to boot evox.

I am sorry if you got confused, I expected an experienced tsop flasher to try this out. Sorry if this thread confused you.

If you put this bios on your mod-chip, then just reflash your mod-chip with a known working bios.

If you put it on your xbox tsop and you have a mod-chip, put the tsopd6 bios on the MOD-CHIP, then follow the Matrix TSOP instructions on xbox-scene, to reflash your tsop. Or get an experienced TSOP flaser to do it for you.

Again, Im sorry if you misunderstood me.

I think the bios in your tsop has to be valid for this to work.

Have an xbox with a flashed tsop with using tsop d6.  Of course, doesn't work.  Will you be able to fix this with the x2lite?  I know people say you have to have a bios on the tsop, which is tsop d6 in this case.  Is that enough to flash the modchip with tsop d6 and then reflash the modchip?  If so, I have another question.  In the tutorial, it has these lines:

4. now install chip into xbox and put it on mode 4 with out the ground connected to T1.
the xbox (eject button)will blink orange and green.... YOU WANT THIS!!! this will let you know that the chip is installed right...
seeing nothing else is no good. The eject button must blink orange and green.
once it is blinking green and orange, dont touch move the matrix around. it is already set.

5. once you did number 4 turn off the system and put the matrix on mode 3 and put the T1 to the screw (ground) and boot it up.
once booted remove the T1 cable from the screw...

In X2 terms, what is mode 4 and mode 3 and how can you simulate those modes on an X2?

Oh ya, and it was on a v.1.0 xbox.

forget step 4.
step 5 leaves out that you must disable the chip (open d0) as it is booting.  on an X2 you just pull the enable jumper (or switch).
I suggest flashing half the x2 with 4977 and half with d6tsop.  verify that the 4977 will boot.  then try to boot with d6tsop, it will frag.  try again but pull the enable jumper as it boots (about 1 sec.).  you must also have a boot disc (ie evox) in.  if you get the the timing right it will boot the disc.
then remove T1 from gound and flash tsop

i don't know if it will work with d6tsop actualy on the tsop

good luck.
