Title: Surreal 64 Roms
Post by: King13p on August 04, 2006, 11:30:00 AM
hey guys,
I'm having a Hard time trying to get roms to show up. I've been through a lot of tutorials and forums reading and so far none have helped me, heres what I have done:
Installed Surreal 64 on my xbox. (I had PJ64 on there but Goldeneye wasn't working well and heard it was better on surreal).
Roms aren't showing up in the default directory so I have changed it over and over. And YES i have changed the T Data one also before anyone tries to tell me thats my problem also.
I also tried to burn roms on a CD-RW which didn't work also. yes I have changed the path again.
Do the roms have to be in any specific extension? Mine were in .V64 and in .ZIP with .V64. I heard someone had another extension of .USA but that didn't make sense to me. that could be my problem but unknown yet. Also how do you burn them on a CD-RW? One guy told me to put it in a XISO using something like XXXISO so the xbox can read it. I did that the way he described using a rom folder inside the ISO and that didn't work either. I also Tried burning just the ROM folder on to a disc and that didn't do anything, Yes I have hit that Refresh button many times also. With the disk in the drive, the Loading Roms List Text lasted longer but then went away. No roms were added. So right now my biggest question is, "what format do N64 roms have to be in order for Surreal to recognize them and do they have to be in a zip format?" Also "Can you zip a few roms together in one zip file and have them all work?" And anything I haven't mentioned that would work Please let me know
thanks

my directory of Surreal is in E:\Emulators\Roms\Surreal64. The Rom Path I chose was
Rom Path: A:\Roms. A being the CD ROM drive. That is one thing I forgot to mention also. Is A the CDROM drive?

D:/Roms is the default folder, use it.

place roms in:

E:\Emulators\Roms\Surreal64\Roms

rescan and they should show up...

I don't believe it! after about a thousand tries doing it, it finally works. thanks man,
Can you send me a link to where I can find what levels I should change the settings to for Goldeneye?
I seem to not be getting any skies. Unless this is the best it could be. Thanks again!!!

Also, when i tried to save the game, it kinda just Screamed at me. then it froze, anyway to fix this? Also does Surreal have anyway to run a gameshark or codes? thanks

 F/apps/Emulators/n64/n64roms

F:\Emulators\n64\n64roms\

double check what is in RED, also make sure those are the EXACT name of the folders etc.

Hi all, I believe Im having a similar problem. I can get surreal to recognize the roms I have but when I launch them, I get stuck on the Loading Rom screen. I put my roms in E:\Emulators\Surreal64 XXX\Roms and thats where I edited my .ini to look for the (rom path=E:\Emulators\Surreal64 XXX\Roms)
Any Suggestions??
