Title: Slow Gameplay Psx-emu

I have Castlevania: SOTN NTSC, but my PSX broke down many years ago. So I made an image of it and play it
on pcsxbox. As i could see, the whole emulator had SOTN-theme so I figured that particular game would work flawless, as the author seems to be a fan. To the problem, the music is very choppy and sometime the gameplay is much slower than on the psx. Are there any known tweaks to make it feel more smooth? I have not altered any settings. I don't think I have the latest version of the emulator. pscxbox_v9....
