Title: Flickering Startup
Post by: GalaXyman on December 07, 2004, 11:24:00 PM
I got a 1.6 with a xenium ice together with evolution x
Everything has been a smooth operation ever since I soldered the chip into the box.
Until today when I press the start button to boot up, the xenium os shows up, but on a flickering kinda rolling black and white picture on the TV. It is almost impossible to see what is going on this flickering screen.

What could this be, a sick TV or a messed up card maybe?

You probably messed with the ntsc/pal settings.  Switch it back to ntsc.

The problem here is that the screen is rolling so fast it is hard to see what is actually going on, I got it to boot into evo X,  but that is still with the rolling screen and blck and white. This setting is it on the TV or the Xbox itself?

Where in the menu would something like that be? In the xenium menu or evox?
And problem here is that I am having a hard time to see what to push   :(

It will be in the xenium menu, check the xenium guide for the exact location.  It will be under region settings or something like that.  NTSC is for the US and PAL is for other, less important countries  :P  j/k guys

Indeed; in the xenium OS, under eeprom tools... Gimme a second, I'll get you a list of buttons to press to be back in buisiness...

(Gumba did this earlier, but I couldn't find his post, so...)

Boot the xbox to XOS2...

Wait 5 (Or more if you have a quickboot timeout set) seconds for the splash welcome to fade away.

Press Down (On the D-Pad), Down, A...

Wait 2 seconds for the menu to fade...

Press Down, A

Wait 2 seconds...

Left, A

Wait 2 seconds...

Left, A

Give it a few seconds to unlock the HDD if its locked and save the change to the eeprom, then shut the xbox off, reboot, and pray :D
