Nonono Tardboy! i dont mean the icons next to the emulator name, i'm talking about the actuall game preview pics INSIDE the emulator, ya know a pic of sonic when you select that game.
and dont try to weasel yourself out of this one, you were talking about the png icons and not the emulator preview pics inside the emu.

well if some of your games have periods in the
. this is a period, not period as in the monthly activity that the female sex has
then you will not see the screenshot of the game in the game select menu
try and go and see if your screenshot is there in either the utilites menu or maybe go and look in boxplorer or whatever you have
im not saying this is the problem but maybe you have some periods in your game title
so should pitfall.nes be renamed to pitfall? That period should stay right? If pitfall.nes is correct, then do i name the screenshot pitfall.jpg? or bmp? or gif etc etc. Or should it just be pitfall for the screenshot?
no only if a game like dr.mario.nes or smash_t.v.nes
don't change pitfall.nes to pitall, it won't even run then
i don't know why that happens but it just does

go into utilties in your emu and then go to browse screenshots and tell me if they show up there
nope i tried to browse the ss that way. I get blanks. So i put in 5 pictures and renamed each one to a different format to see if it would work: jpg, gif, bmp, png, and jpeg. No luck. What can i be doing wrong? I dont get it :(
do you get screenshots for any other emulators
