That emulator is called Dolphin, the authors are unknown, although i suspect the emu64 people know who they are.

Right now Dolphin only exists as a couple of screenshots, there's no way of knowing what FPS he's getting.  I wouldn't get my hopes up as far as porting this to xbox, the source may not even get released, let along the xbox being able to run it.

If it did get ported to xbox, i bet Nintendo would sell a lot more games ;-).

sleep_21: Now there's two Gamecube emus out then,
if this one is named Dolphin. Are you sure you didn't mean Dolwin?

Yes and the games are $20-50, its always stupid when people say just go buy the system.

Yes, its real.
No, it will never run decent on a xbox no matter how far it gets. (unless they figure out how to up the CPU more than 1.4 ghz)

I would highly doubt a public version is going to be out anytime soon, looking at the screenshots. Its obvious that he still needs a large amount of GPU work, and i would doubt there's even sound emulation yet. As someone pointed above, it doesnt even show the FPS, so it could be running at 1FPS. I would say give it a year and perhaps a retail game or two might be playable.

Yeah bro I wouldnt get all excited as of yet. Just look at icarus. For the record icarus has been in development for like 2 years maybe even longer. And like the cheerleader said 1.4ghz will be a problem as well. Even so I wish these guys luck but dont hold your breath and take this with a grain of salt.

the guy behind the emu is the emutalk/emu64 host himself, martin64!

Bet you didnt see that comming?

I really didnt see that coming. If martin is behind it, then theres no doubt in my mind its 100% legit.

Good enough for me then  biggrin.gif
Hopefully in a year or so my 1,8gig will be able to play gamecube  biggrin.gif

Well Icarus if its even released with full source code would at best run at 50% speed on the Xbox but I am guessing more 20% speed. Gamecube emu might run at 1% speed on a Xbox.

Bullshit! We could get 5% of gamecube IF the source were ever released in a year or two when it works!
However it makes no difference  laugh.gif

There are two shots on the main page. One's running at 1.37fps, the other at 1.27. Although still bad, it's a good start; and certainly better than 0.2fps! Also, I'm surprised NGC is already somewhat emulated.

1.4Ghz not enough oompf?

No, 1.4 ghz is not enough.

We are talking high end emulation here....you need major horsepower. Use icarus as a example, as he has stated many times that 2ghz + will be needed to run at a decent FPS. This is all in the efficiency of the code..and a new emulator supporting a new high end system will take years and years to optimize to allow lower end systems to emulate at decent speed.

You're not suggesting that you would steal the games if you had an emulator, are you? ;-)
