Gotta agree with Noodle on this, they all are fantastic. I gave my vote to DaphneX though, because of all the time my girlfriend and I have spent on Dragon's Lair and CliffHanger. smile.gif

Yeah, I couldn't answer this poll either.

I've always sorta stuck with Mame-X because of the high Neo-Geo compatibility until the recent release of MameoX, which can run almost the same number of Neo games.  Final Burn Alpha is wonderful as well, because of the shooters that are available on it, and the co-op beat'em up games (Alien vs. Predator, Shadows of Mystara).  I haven't played Daphne yet (The original media laserdiscs are sorta hard to find, so I'd hafta download almost 3 gigs to play 2 games?! No thanks...).

All of the arcade emus have various strengths and weaknesses, that make it really hard for me to choose one over the other.
MameoX has the highest number of playable games, but can't play large games like Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Esp Ra De.
Mame-X has great Neo Geo compatibility being able to play some large games like Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, and is very configurable when setting up joysticks for each player in a game, but its goofy with early games like Star Wars and Defender, and can randomly freeze when starting a game, if you're starting it after previously playing another game.
Final Burn can play Capcom CPS 1-2 games wonderfully, and has compatibility with great shooters like Guwange and Do DonPachi, but emulates the second smallest list of games available for an xbox arcade emu, doesn't allow you access to dip switches on most games, the joystick configuration menu is very basic, and isn't configurable per game.
Again, because I haven't played with Daphne, I can't comment on it...

Sorry Michael, but some people want a bit more choices than Street Fighter clones and vertical shooters.

...not to say that I don't like Final Burn Alpha.  I really like it, in fact.  However, there is such a large variety of games to choose from with MameoX, that I'm not at all surprised that MameoX is the runaway favorite.

Actually I don't really care.  Anything that can run NEOGEO is awsome in my book.

Anyone know if any emulator can handle marvel VS. capcom?

This is difficult.  FBA does have some of my favorite brawlers and shooters.  But, the slowdown and short choice in games (very minor complaint) doesn't make FBA my arcade emu of choice.

I would have to go with Mame-X simply because it plays Neo Geo romz extremely well (though I have yet to try MameoX).

I love FBAX, it truly is fantastic, but I can also see why MAMEoX is winning. Same reason as was mentioned before.

I'm curious, Shadowland, what games get slowdown in FBAX? I've only really played the shooters there so I haven't really noticed any emulation problems so far.

Hosh - Ironically, its the shooters that have the slowdown.

Shadowland has played some of those games off of the actual arcarde boards (Do Don Pachi, Guwange), and has seen them play with no slowdown.  While I personally can't see how it is ever possible to play Guwange with any success without some very "helpful" slowdown, it must be said that the actual hardware plays with little to no loss of speed, something the Xbox can't seem to do.

Like my friend mr jones said, I have had the pleasure of playing the actual pcbs for Guwange, ESP-rade, DoDonpachi, etc.  Each similar rom on the Xbox has shown considerable slowdown.  Not that this is a huge problem, slowdown is very welcome sometimes.

But, when you're playing these games at full speed it's a totally different experience.

[OT]I'm definitely not knocking the effort by lantus.  I very much appreciate the opportunity to play these games on a whim, without having to spend hundreds in order to play them and hundreds to purchase the pcbs alone.
